Web address terms
These terms cover your web address (your domain name, like yourbusiness.ca) when you use a website from Kohmera.
1. You own your web address
Your web address is registered in your name with the company you bought it from (your registrar), and you pay that company directly. We do not register, buy, renew or own web addresses for customers.
2. If you already have one
You keep it where it is. We connect it to your new website: we send you the records to add, or, if you give us access, we add them for you at no extra cost. We never take ownership of it or move it to another company.
3. If you do not have one yet
We show you how to buy one in your own name from a registrar you choose. The registration and yearly renewal fees are between you and that registrar. Once you have it, we connect it as described in section 2.
4. Renewals
Your registrar bills you for renewals. If your web address expires, your website stops showing at that address until you renew it. We may remind you if we notice, but keeping it renewed is your responsibility.
5. Email on the same address
Connecting your website does not move your email. If your email uses the same web address, we only change the records your website needs.
6. Leaving
If you cancel, your web address stays yours and there is nothing to transfer. When your paid period ends we stop hosting the website, and you can point your web address anywhere you like. If we added records for you, we tell you which ones to change or remove.
7. Things we cannot control
Registries and registrars have their own rules. A registry can suspend a name for reasons outside our control, for example a dispute or a missing verification email. We will help you fix it, but we cannot guarantee the outcome.
